Asiatic Philharmonia Society
The
Asiatic Philharmonia Society is a non-profit music organization. It is
currently comprised of the Asiatic Philharmonia Orchestra and
the
Asiatic Philharmonia Chorale. Maestro Jindong Cai is
the Music Director and conductor of the Orchestra and the
Chorale.
The
Asiatic Philharmonia
Orchestra consists of local professional musicians who
are originally from Asia and from other ethnic groups. The
Asiatic Philharmonia Chorale is comprised of several established Bay
Area Asian choruses and qualified individual choral singers.
Missions
APS is
dedicated to making
Chinese/Asian music emerge into the American main
stream. This endeavor will enrich the
cultural life
in our society as a whole, and will improve the status of the
Asian-American community in regards to culture. APS
is
devoted to promoting cultural understanding/appreciation and social
integration. Music transcends all boundaries and unites all
peoples.
APS
supports community
activities. APS will support cultural events,
festivals,
and functions for good causes, such as benefit concerts and
ceremonies.
APS
promotes renowned
Chinese/Asian musicians. China and other Asian countries have
emerged strongly in the international music arena. Their
musicians have established remarkable records in various prestigious
competitions and performances. APS is dedicated to utilizing
such
invaluable assets for high culture performing events, and for music
education through master classes.
Recruitment
The
Asiatic Philharmonia
Orchestra and the Asiatic Philharmonia Chorale are currently recruiting
professional musicians and qualified choral singers
respectively.
A resume and an audition will be required of all applicants.
